As a long time fan of SNL, I’ve watched the show from it’s very first episode, and was immediately hooked! Yes, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Laraine Newman, and Gilda Radner opened my eyes not only to comedy, also a focused locals look at New York City. Of course John Belushi was my favorite as he was born in Chicago and lived a few miles away from me growing up in Wheaton, IL. Chicago embraced John and Dan, yes the Blues Brothers were Chicago’s claim to fame. The legendary “Sweet Home Chicago” song always brings back so many memories.

What I so appreciated about the film was the workings of the show, I had no idea of the and especially what is expected of the talent. The jokes are written by cast members with help if needed although I was surprised to learn that the majority of the jokes are written by cast members, and the fact that each week they need to come up with new funny material. What I also enjoy about the show is that a person can actually mess up the lines and still laugh at his or her mistakes.
What is so awesome is to now take a look at the man behind the curtain. He doesn’t give much verbal feedback to his cast, only a a look or a gesture and what’s really great is you’ll now find out what those gestures mean. We also see Loren somewhat relaxing on is blueberry farm of which we are shown a small segment of that, a place where he can find peace and quiet, of which I understand as my own father an Excutive of a company and also a diplomat with our Washington DC world commerce bought a working farm with 180 acres that he rented out to farmers. It was his solace, a place of solitude for he and my mother.
